Thermomix Crunchy or Smooth Peanut Butter

We aren't trying to reinvent the wheel with our Crunchy or Smooth Peanut Butter recipe, simply help you get the most from your Thermomix and your food. This recipe does both, by allowing you to make a 3 ingredient peanut butter in just 30 minutes! Gone is the palm oil and additives you can't even pronounce let alone identify, and here is your very own smooth or crunchy spread. Enjoy!



  • Roasted peanuts icon
    Roasted peanuts
    17.64oz/500g (about 2⅛ cups)
  • Golden caster sugar icon
    Golden caster sugar
    2.65oz/75g (about ¼ cup)
  • Sea salt icon
    Sea salt
    2 tsp (0.45oz/13g)


  1. Line a clean baking sheet with parchment paper
  2. Add roasted peanuts to the baking sheet
  3. Place into a cold oven
  4. Roast - 10 min, 200°C
  5. Add golden caster sugar to a clean frying pan
  6. Heat - medium heat
  7. Do not stir
  8. Shake the sugar occasionally and thenas it starts to melt, a little more frequently so that the sugar melts equally.When it is all melted it should be a beautiful amber colour
  9. Transfer sugar mixture to work surface
  10. Set
  11. Break
  12. Transfer three quarters of content of baking sheet to TM5 bowl
  13. Transfer content of work surface to TM5 bowl
  14. Add sea salt to the TM5 bowl
  15. Fit TM5 bowl to TM5
  16. Blend - approx 30 sec, speed 8
  17. Scrape down sides of TM5 bowl
  18. Blend - approx 30 sec, speed 7
  19. Scrape down sides of TM5 bowl
  20. Remove any peanut butter from the bowl that youwould like to have as smooth peanut butter
  21. Transfer the rest of nuts to TM5 bowl
  22. Blend - approx 6 sec, speed 6
  23. Store in plastic container until needed
