Crumbles usually come in two flavors – rhubarb or apple – and usually only come in one season – Summer. That's why our Christmas Crumble is such a unique Winter recipe, combining our Fruity Pear Mince recipe with a crunchy and appealing layer of almonds and marzipan. Served in individual pots, these are wonderful for hosting, or just a special December dessert. If you're not a fan of marzipan (it can be quite divisive) add in some rolled oats instead. Voilá!

INGREDIENTS


  • Fruity pear mince icon
    Fruity pear mince
    17.64oz/500g (about 2¾ cups)
  • Unsalted butter icon
    Unsalted butter
    2.12oz/60g (about 4¼ tbsp)
  • Sea salt icon
    Sea salt
    1 pinch
  • All purpose flour icon
    All purpose flour
    3.35oz/95g (about ¾ cup)
  • Dark brown sugar icon
    Dark brown sugar
    1.76oz/50g (about 4⅛ tbsp)
  • Almonds icon

    1.76oz/50g (about 5¾ tbsp)
  • Slivered almonds icon
    Slivered almonds
    1.76oz/50g (about ½ cup)
  • Marzipan icon
    Marzipan
    as needed
    cubed

METHOD


  1. Pre-heat oven - 180°C
  2. Divide Fruity Pear Mince between the clean ceramic baking dishes evenly
  3. Add unsalted butter, sea salt and all purpose flour to the TM5 bowl
  4. Fit TM5 bowl to TM5
  5. Blend - approx 5 sec, speed 8
  6. Then add dark brown sugar to the mixture
  7. Blend - approx 5 sec, speed 5
  8. Then add almonds and slivered almonds to the mixture
  9. Mix - approx 15 sec, dough
  10. Then add marzipan to the mixture
  11. Stir - approx 15 sec, gentle stir
  12. Transfer mixture to 2 ceramic baking dishes
  13. Bake until fragrant - 20 min, 180°C
  14. Serve
