Sometimes just making your own takeout is quicker, and often it's more delicious. 100% of the time it's healthier, and with this in mind, we present our Beef Basil Stir Fry recipe. With flavors that suggest a much longer marination time than 30 minutes, you'll be surprised with the potency of the umami and spicy taste. It makes for a more-ish and salty meal without any scary additives. All the magic happens in your Thermomix, so if you're feeling lazy about washing up, serve alone with snow peas and basil to top, or rice or noodles if you and yours are a little hungrier.

INGREDIENTS


  • Steak icon

  • Fish sauce icon

    1 tbsp (0.50fl oz/18g)
  • Oyster sauce icon

    3 tbsp (1.50fl oz/49g)
  • Chicken stock icon

    4 tbsp (2.00fl oz/59g)
  • Coconut sugar icon

    about ½ tsp (0.07oz/2g)
  • Extra virgin olive oil icon

    3 tbsp (1.50fl oz/40g)

  • Snow pea icon

METHOD


  1. Add fish sauce, oyster sauce, chicken stock, coconut sugar, extra virgin olive oil, garlic clove and fresh chili to the TM5 bowl
  2. Fit TM5 bowl to TM5
  3. Blend - approx 10 sec, speed 6
  4. Add steak to a clean large mixing bowl
  5. Transfer content of TM5 bowl to meat
  6. Marinate in fridge - 30 min
  7. Pre-heat TM5 bowl - approx 5 min, varoma, speed 2
  8. Then add extra virgin olive oil to the TM5 bowl
  9. Drain meat
  10. Transfer meat to TM5 bowl
  11. Cook - approx 5 min, varoma, speed 1
  12. Transfer content of TM5 bowl to heatproof bowl
  13. Add snow pea and Thai basil to the heatproof bowl
  14. Serve
